Purchased this sundial along with the Rome Industries cast iron Baluster style base for my wife on our 6th anniverasry (traditonal gift is candy or iron). This is out in our rose garden now, and we are both looking forward to watching this age along with us!

My husband loved this twist on the 1st anniversary gift. The contemporary suggestion for a 1st anniversary gift is a clock...so I bought a sundial. We spend most of our time outside and around our koi pond. The sundial is a perfect addition to the pond. He proposed at the pond, so it adds more meaning to our special place.

Product is accurately described & performs well. Mounting on the website-suggested pedestal is another matter entirely. It was necessary for me to fabricate a weatherproof "adapter" plate to attach this sundial to the pedestal that was sent - but incorrectly described by the online literature, pictures, etc. In the end, however, the completed assembly looks good & is functional...
